Our Story
Michelle founded Adonai Group in 2005 to connect businesses with knowledge management expertise. Over time, she observed that numerous growing small businesses and family-run enterprises in Singapore lacked the resources or leadership support larger companies possessed to grow and succeed. This realisation led Adonai Group to pivot in 2008, evolving into a boutique business strategy consultancy dedicated to supporting small and family-run companies with professional business advice and strategies, ensuring long-term success for generations to come.
In 2011, we were awarded an NTUC 50 Model Partnership award for developing an innovative productivity enhancement programme for elderly workers, which greatly enhanced employee retention. We have conducted a Strategic Review for a membership-based organisation with an excess of 300,000 members in Singapore, which saw a marked improvement in meeting customer needs and effective member engagement.
Michelle also recognises that Asian family business encounter unique challenges in strategic planning. Generational leadership transitions, family traditions and cultural nuances can complicate efforts to adopt Western management frameworks. Drawing on her understanding of both worlds, Michelle has guided Adonai Group to strike a delicate balance between respecting cultural dynamics and implementing modern, scalable business practices. The result is an approach that meets the expectations of family stakeholders, engages employees and delivers value to customers – without sacrificing the business’s foundational values and legacy.
